On May 17, a commemorative event dedicated to preserving the historical memory of the Crimean Tatars took place at the Brandenburg Gate. It was organized by the Crimean Cultural Center KERMEN. Impressive works by artist Rustem Emin, reflecting the history of the people, were on display. A touching candle ceremony featured a silhouette of Crimea, symbolizing the memory of their ancestors. The event was opened by singer Maire Pasha with the anthem “Ant Etkenmen.”
Particularly significant were the speeches by Dr. Franziska Davis and Frank Peter Wilde, whose words were deeply touching and emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage. We sincerely thank them for their solidarity and support.
The event concluded with a joint candle-lighting as a sign of remembrance and hope.
