  • The 29th edition of the International Festival of Dance, Song and Folk Costume of the Turkic-Tatars was successfully completed

The 29th edition of the International Festival of Turkish-Tatar Dance, Song, and Folk Costume concluded on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with a gala concert featuring artists and ensembles from Turkey, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Albania, as well as groups representing Croatian, Macedonian, Russian-Lipovan, Turkish, Bulgarian, and Serbian communities from Romania, Romanian and Armenian folk dance ensembles from the Elena Roizen Cultural Center in Ovidiu, and ensembles from the UDTTMR.

The hall of the Jean Constantin Multifunctional Educational Center for Youth proved cramped for the large audience, who applauded every performance. The event once again highlighted the model of interethnic coexistence in Dobruja.

In his welcoming message, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bucharest, H.E. Mr. Özgür Kıvanç Altan stated: “I am honored to be here on this very special evening. Thank you for this atmosphere, and thank you to Romania for showing openness to diversity. This is truly ‘unity in diversity’!”

On behalf of the Constanta County Council, Vice President Razvan Filipescu conveyed: “This festival is not only a celebration of tradition but also an expression of friendship, and I want to thank you for the contribution your community makes to the development of local culture and the economy. We are in a blessed zone, an example of peaceful interethnic coexistence, and together we host high-quality cultural events that promote ethnic diversity and strengthen our community.”

For three hours, the stage of the Multifunctional Center was transformed into a realm of multiculturalism, each performance conveying the desire to be part of a world governed by beauty and peace.
